World War II Creative Project

Reflection

This project confirmed the power of student choice in deepening engagement with complex historical content. Allowing students to design a newscast, comic book, children’s book, or newspaper gave them ownership over their learning, and many exceeded expectations in both creativity and historical accuracy. I was especially impressed by the variety of perspectives they incorporated into their work. Moving forward, I would like to provide more structured rubrics for each format to ensure consistency in expectations while still allowing freedom for creativity.
